This week is all about coverage of the hottest topics circulating in the startup scene, presented by startup founders, investors, and influencers. Whether you’re mulling over an idea for a new startup, new to the Seattle area, looking for your tribe of entrepreneurs, or are well-established in the Seattle startup scene, this is the perfect week to jump in. Monday, 11/14

10AM at Impact Hub Seattle Bootstrapping without Being Strapped: Tim Howell from JPMorgan Chase will be leading the panelists to uncover tips on how to bootstrap successfully and how to lead your business as an independent financial entity, including building your credit history and using financial business products to leverage cash flow.

11AM at Impact Hub Seattle How to Value Your Startup: Yi-Jian Ngo (Managing Director, Alliance of Angels) will lead an interactive workshop on startup valuation, walking through practical guidelines and three specific methods that entrepreneurs can use to guide their valuation negotiations.

3PM at Impact Hub Seattle How to be a Full-Time CEO and fundraiser: Our CEO, BJ Lackland will moderate a panel of local serial entrepreneurs—Aseem Badshah, Jay Goyal, and David Lischner. All three founders have evaluated various funding options and are prepared to share their tips and lessons learned.

Tuesday, 11/15

12PM at extraSlice Pitch Clinic: Get some practical help through a working session to perfect your pitch. Ben Rush (Senior Associate, Alliance of Angels) will work with you to build an effective pitch, targeted to angel investors.

3PM at Impact Hub Seattle Funding 101 Game Show: Test your know-how… Are you ready to go raise money? Local angel investor Joshua Maher and Bill Richter from Madrona will be help you answer some basic questions about fundraising. Join Mike Grabham in this interactive session and a chance to win some prizes!

Wednesday, 11/16

12PM at WeWork South Lake Union Pick the Brain of Local Angels: We’re going a step further with the angel investment discussion and picking their brains (also checkout our ‘Pick the Brain of a VC’ panel on Thurs 11/17). You’ll get a chance to hear from Alliance of Angels Chair Dan Rosen along with some experienced angel investors and AoA members: Johnna Hobgood, Dennis Adler, and Marek Omilian for this one-hour panel discussion. Josh Williams, Executive Vice President and Chief Banking Officer at Seattle Bank, will moderate this session.

1PM at Impact Hub Seattle The Cost of Capital: A financing decision is very hard to reverse. Before you go on the fundraising path, research each option and understand the cost of capital and the implication to your business. Join BJ Lackland, CEO of Lighter Capital and an ex-VC to learn how to evaluate the “true cost of capital” in today’s funding landscape.

11AM at Impact Hub Seattle Alternative Funding to Venture Capital: We’re closing the week with another popular session. Joe Wallin (Principal, Carney Badley Spellman, P.S.) will lead the session with panelists Mark Cameron (SVP, Specialty Finance at Square 1), Grant Jones (President, KuKuRuZa), and Molly Otter (CIO, Lighter Capital).
