March Deal Roundup

While rumor has it that March came in like a lion and went out like a lamb, here at Lighter we basked in the sunshine of good business all month long. We closed 15 funding deals with some phenomenal clients, including ten that we’re working with for the first time and one that we’re funding for the fourth.

Here’s a look at the companies we funded in March.

 

New Clients

 

Jubi, a cloud-based platform that engages employees in ongoing learning, helps companies provide progressive talent development and training.

The Daily Dot is a website offering original reporting on Internet culture and life online, otherwise described as “the official newspaper for crazy Internet people.”

 

ComplianceBridge‘s compliance software offers policy and procedure management, and efficient risk, audit and assessment management.

 

Qwickly is a productivity platform for Blackboard Learn™ that facilitates faculty communication with students and connects students together for work in groups.

Knowify provides job management software to commercial construction, residential contracting, and other service providers, including costing and estimating, bids and contracts, and time tracking and scheduling.

 

Xlive convenes industry leaders from all segments of the live entertainment industry to transform the way live events share expertise, learn, and revolutionize experience.

 

Bioscape Digital is a patient engagement platform that empowers patients, helps clinicians stay organized, and provides administrators actionable intelligence.

 

Full Circle Insights makes tools to improve sales and marketing performance management, bringing sales and marketing functions together to grow revenue.

Rain Retail Software provides an all-in-one solution for point of sale, rental management, ecommerce websites, and email marketing, including an integrated inventory function.

Adzerk‘s software uses APIs that facilitate programmatically promoting content and serving ads to grow revenue, focusing on native ads, sponsored listings, and server-side content promotion.

 

Returning Clients 

Arrivalist uses location analytics to measure how media exposures on network-enabled devices affect where people go. This is Arrivalist’s second round of funding from us.

Agiliron‘s business management software features integrated stores, sales channel additions, modular building blocks, and dedicated databases. This is Agiliron’s second round of funding from us.

 

Actively Learn‘s interactive reading platform allows educators to implement the best teaching practices in every subject and empowers students to take on independent work. This is Actively Learn’s third round of funding from us.

Intellect (previously named Interneer) makes business process management software aimed at those without coding experience. This is Intellect’s fourth round of funding from us.

PlayVox’s QA software allows call center managers to measure the quality of customer interactions across all channels—chat, email, phone, and more—in a single platform. This is PlayVox’s second round of funding from us.

Katherine Gustafson is a full-time freelance writer specializing in content for mission-driven changemakers such as tech disruptors in fintech, healthcare IT, and B2B SaaS. She also does corporate work on business topics including accounting, management, and innovation for companies such as KPMG, TD Bank, Workday, Avalara, and Adobe. She is the author of a book about innovation in sustainable food, and her writing has appeared in a wide variety of sites and publications including QuickBooks Resource Center, Business Insider, and Forbes.
