November was a whirlwind here at Lighter Capital. We made it to Dreamforce 2017, and announced a brand new $15M fund for Intuit QuickBooks developers.

We funded 16 companies, too, including 6 new clients and 10 returning clients. Here’s a recap of our deals.


New Clients


Communico provides libraries with an industry-specific suite of cloud-based applications to manage and enhance patron and staff user experience. Its seven integrated enterprise applications can be managed from a single control panel, communicate with external data sources, and include widgets that allow content-sharing across the applications and on third-party sites.

Game Plan is the first comprehensive platform designed for the development of student-athletes. The cloud-based system enables collaboration among students, athletic departments, and employers. Users can find resources, create assessments, leverage rich analytics, communicate through messaging, and schedule events in a shared calendar. 

GoSite provides cloud-based tools to power online businesses. The simple all-in-one platform helps entrepreneurs grow their online presence and connect with new and returning customers. Providing domains, websites, automation, and marketing and content services, GoSite is full-service and low-hassle.

LeanPath’s cloud-based food-waste prevention system automatically tracks food waste using a smart scale and integrated camera, then analyzes the waste and reports its financial impact. Users can set goals for reducing food waste and receive automated alerts and recommendations. LeanPath’s personalized coaching helps team members help implement new systems to reduce waste, meet goals, and increase profits.

Sendlane provides affordable, easy-to-use email marketing and automation services. The cloud-based system allows users to target subscribers and customers with appropriate emails based on their actions. Creating templates in the drag-and-drop email editor makes for simple digital communications, helping businesses concentrate on cultivating customer engagement and loyalty.


Syntrio provides ethics and compliance training to companies of all sizes through a library of insightful and customizable online training programs. Users across all industries can find trainings in topics such as ethics, code of conduct, workplace harassment, employment discrimination. Courses can be tailored to meet the specific needs of any organization.


Returning Clients

AppBuddy helps Salesforce users be more productive using its GridBuddy product, a UI simplification engine for data entry. GridBuddy helps enterprises and app vendors avoid custom development work for complex data management or highly transactional Salesforce use cases. Founded in 2002, AppBuddy is located in Millbrae, California.

Axonom develops innovative configure price quote (CPQ), visual product configurator, and sales quoting software. The software integrates virtual reality experiences to reach global high-tech, services, and manufacturers, and the company is gaining strong traction in the large- to enterprise-sized manufacturing space. The company’s cloud-based solutions simplify complex configurations, decrease quoting time, and ensure accuracy in pricing and orders.

InsureSign provides an electronic signature platform that helps their clients’ businesses move faster and more securely. They plan to dedicate half their funding on marketing spend and half to hiring developers.

ListReports provides a mobile marketing solution that allows mortgage loan officers and real estate agents to create, manage, and deliver promotional materials. More than 50,000 agents and 6,000 loan officers across all 50 states use ListReports to foster relationships, automate marketing, and close more deals.


San Diego-based Rock My Run is a digital health and technology fitness company that uses real-time data from users’ bodies to adapt musical content during exercise. The app helps runners stay motivated and invigorated with music that follows the rhythm of steps or heart rate during exercise.

Springboard Retail builds point-of-sale and retail management software that provides real-time updates, custom reporting, and multi-channel, multi-site insights. The company has processed more than $1B of retail sales at over 1,000 sites across North America.


Syscloud has been providing products to migrate, protect, and help manage organizations’ cloud apps since 2013. The company provides enterprises and educational institutions transition with backup and disaster recovery software solutions.
